Expert for the Planning and Development Section
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is now seeking an expert for the Planning and Development Section within the Department for Operational Content. The department is responsible for nationally coordinating and developing the operational content in prisons, remand facilities, and probation to ensure that clients receive equivalent and legally secure corrections. The Planning and Development Section is responsible for coordinating within the department, operational planning and follow-up, implementing special government assignments, and other extensive change projects. The section's development work must therefore be conducted in close dialogue with core operations and the departments at the headquarters, but also, where applicable, with external stakeholders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The job responsibilities are varied and focused on developing operational content in line with the authority's long-term priorities. Primarily, the role requires skill in managing assignments across various subject areas and conducting qualified investigative work. The position primarily focuses on driving and coordinating government assignments that require both external and internal collaboration. The assignments concern initiatives to promote the government's disability policy within the authority and assignments to coordinate efforts within the framework of inter-agency collaboration - the digitization of the justice system. The position primarily has a long-term strategic development focus but may also require the ability to switch between strategic and operational perspectives. The assignment requires good analytical skills and the ability to understand and navigate complex issues and processes. You also need to have the ability to collaborate with other authorities as well as experience representing and advocating the authority's interests in inter-agency networks. This may involve independently or together with various working groups preparing decision-making materials for the agency's management or producing reports for clients as well as handling consultation responses. The position involves close collaboration with both other departments at the headquarters and other authorities.
